ETC LINKEDIN PEER-REVIEW WORKSHOP

Wednesday, February 13, 5-7pm, University Union Room 394

Join students and professors for LinkedIn help at the Eagle Technical Communicators (ETC) LinkedIn Workshop. The free event teaches students the best practices for creating dynamic, impactful LinkedIn profiles. Attendees will exchange and critique their profiles.

VISIO WORKSHOP WITH MIKAYLA KIM

Wednesday, February 27, 5-6:30pm, GAB 330D

Mikayla Kim, UNT Tech Comm alumna and technical writer for Southwest Airlines, will lead a free workshop on Microsoft Visio hosted by the ETC. Attendees will attend a short presentation and receive hands-on training.

XML WORKSHOP WITH RICHARD HAMILTON

Wednesday, March 27, 5-6:30pm, Auditorium Building Room (AUDB) 308

Richard Hamilton, author, publisher at XML Press, and veteran manager of technical communication teams, will lead a free workshop on XML hosted by the ETC.

INFORMATION TAXONOMY WORKSHOP WITH VAL SWISHER

Friday, April 26, 1:30-3pm, University Union Room TBD

Val Swisher, founder and CEO of Content Rules Inc., will lead a free, hands-on workshop on information taxonomies. She defines an information taxonomy as "a type of architecture to collate and organize data within an organization." Val visited campus last fall and spoke on global content strategy.

3rd ANNUAL TECH COMM STUDENT SHOWCASE

Friday, April 26, 10:00am-12:30pm, University Union Room 339

The Student Showcase returns this spring. Tech comm students exhibit and receive feedback on their portfolio websites with the help of industry professionals and our university community. Laurel Beason, Director of Corporate Relations, coordinates this event. Contact her at laurel.beason@unt.edu if you want to participate.
