UNT Faculty Profile: Laurel Beason
Laurel Beason brings over 20 years of industry technical communication experience to UNT. Most recently, Beason served as a top-performer in the role of Documentation Project Manager for Cisco Systems. At Cisco, she trained and coached a group of technical writers, increased collaboration between technical writers and cross-functional team members in other functional areas, and conducted customer research to improve technical documentation.
Beason also worked as a technical communicator for Brinks, Inc. and Fidelity Investments. She gained teaching experience while earning the M.A. in rhetoric and composition and the M.F.A. from Eastern Washington University. She earned the B.A. in journalism from the University of Idaho.
