UNT Faculty Profile: Vincent Robles

Vincent Robles completed his Ph.D. in rhetoric and professional communication at Iowa State University. In his dissertation, Discourse Strategies at Technical-Support Help Desks, Robles examined the problem-diagnosing and problem-resolution strategies that technical-support providers and users employ in technical-support encounters. The goal was to provide a concrete set of communication strategies that can yield more efficient and satisfactory help encounters. The project received a grant from the C. R. Anderson Research Fund of the Association for Business Communication.

Robles served as assistant editor of Transportation Journal. He won the Iowa State Teaching Excellence Award in 2016. Robles earned the M.A. in technical communication from Texas Tech University and the B.A. in English from Wayland Baptist University
