What are the minimum requirements to apply?

Admission to the Grad Track Pathway is highly selective. To be eligible to apply, undergraduate students must:

  • Have completed 60 undergraduate hours, including TECM 2700 and 3010 (with As)
  • Have maintained a cumulative 3.5 GPA , including transfer credit
  • Be a declared technical communication major
  • Meet with the department's Assistant Chair (or Director of Graduate Studies) and the Undergraduate Advisor for short interviews
How do I apply?

To apply, you must submit:

  • A resume
  • A response to a writing prompt
  • Nomination forms from 2 technical communication faculty

GRE scores are not required. Grad Track students are admitted to the program after completing 75 hours.

What courses will I take?

After admission, you’ll register for two graduate courses (6 credits) as replacements for required undergraduate courses. You must not have received credit for any of these undergraduate courses. Grad Track students must that the 6 graduate credits in their senior year. To count as dual credit, students must complete all graduate courses withing 12 calendar months.

Do I need to take the GRE?

The GRE is currently being waived for all applicants.
