BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Campbell received her PhD in Rhetoric, Composition and Linguistics from LSU in 1990, and has subsequently held positions at Auburn, the Air Force Institute of Technology, and the University of Alabama, where she was the Derrell Thomas Instructional Excellence Faculty Fellow. She is an experienced administrator, having served at UNT as Department Chair and at Alabama as both Coordinator of Management Communication and Associate Dean for Accreditation and Continuous Improvement. She was a Fellow in the Southeastern Conference Academic Consortium Leadership Development program in 2010-11. She currently serves as Director of Corporate Relations for the Department of Technical Communication.

Dr. Campbell is the author of several books as well as more than forty refereed papers and book chapters. She won the Jay R. Gould Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2022 from the Society for Technical Communication. She was the 2012 winner of the Kitty O. Locker Outstanding Researcher Award from the Association for Business Communication, the 2009 winner of the Alfred N. Goldsmith Award for Outstanding Contributions to Engineering Communication and the 2007 Emily K. Schlesinger Award for Service from the IEEE Professional Communication Society. She served as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication from 1998 to 2008.

 
OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
She enjoys cooking, swimming, watching British TV, reading fantasy & mysteries, playing with her dogs, and watching LSU football.
