The Big Design Scholarship for UX Design for graduate and undergraduate students eligibility requirements:

  • You must be a full-time student with a declared major in Professional and Technical Communication in the Department of Techncial Communication; in User Experience Design or Interaction and User Experience Design in the Department of Design
  • You must remain enrolled full time during both semesters of the award period (12 credit hours for undergraduate or 9 hours for graduate students)

This scholarship will be awarded for the first time in 2021-22 based on the applicant's demonstrated contribution to user experience. It was created in honor of the organizers of the annual Big Design Conference: Brian Sullivan, Susan Sullivan, Kayla Wren, Josh Winegardner, Lara Becker, Candy Bernhardt, Jeremy Johnson, David Shapiro, Pam Durnin, J. Schuh, Fred Janis, Cindy Janis, Keith Anderson, Scott Feaster, Cassini Nazir, Alisa Nazir, Sean Sullivan, and Kim Linnen.

Neil and Rebecca Cobb Scholarship for undergraduate students eligibility requirements:

  • You must be a full-time student with a declared major in Professional and Technical Communication
  • You must remain enrolled in 12 credit hours during both semesters of the award period
  • You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all TECM coursework

Technical Communication General Scholarship for graduate students eligibility requirements:

  • You must be enrolled as a full-time student in any of the degree-granting programs in the Department of Technical Communication.
  • You must be have completed a minimum of 9 hours in graduate technical communication courses at UNT
  • You must remain enrolled in 9 credit hours as a graduate student during both semesters of the award period.
  • You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all TECM coursework

Chair's Scholarship in Technical Communication for graduate and undergraduate students eligibility requirements:

  • You must be enrolled as a full-time student in any of the degree-granting programs in the Department of Technical Communication
  • If a graduate student, you must be have completed a minimum of 9 hours in graduate technical communication courses at UNT
  • You must be enrolled in 9 credit hours as a graduate student or 12 credit hours as an undergraduate student during both semesters of the award period
  • You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all TECM coursework
  • NOTE: Non-Texas residents receiving this competitive scholarship will not be able to receive a scholarship waiver to pay in-state tuition until the 2021-2022 award cycle.
